Direction drilling monitoring station
For safe and reliable guiding of directed and horizontal sections of oil and gas well paths.
The station provides:
- automatized signal acquisition from process sensors and bottomhole equipment
- processes workflow monitoring on a well
- online monitoring of well path
- calculation of the pathway tolerance range (admissible deflection of hole wandering)
- building projections for design and actual well paths
- engineering solutions; BHA design, trip assessment and forecasts
- identification of cluster wells convergence events
- identification of drilling problems
- prompt lithological zonation by geophysical data (gamma, resistivity logs etc.)
- live data displaying on the rotary site for the DD engineer
- wellbore report generation and printing
- export of stored data in LAS, XLS data formats
- data transmission to remote data storage and processing centers
Well paths calculation procedures:
- tangential - for S-shaped paths
- compensated - yields higher accuracy for reduced measurement pitches
- angle averaging - for flat wellbore paths
- by curvature radius - for horizontal S-shaped paths
- two chords method - for S-shaped, steeply inclined paths
Station configuration
- process sensors set
- data acquisition unit from telemetry system
- DD engineer, foreman, supervisor, driller workplaces
- wireless communication system
Features of the station
- online monitoring of directional drilling sections processing
- acquiring actual information for drilling safety provision
- assessing of current borehole depth hitting a predefined bottom-hole target
- preventing occasional well paths collision during cluster drilling
- identification of drilling problem
- prompt lithological zonation by geophysical parameters (gamma, resistivity logs etc)
- improving workmanship on directionally drilled borehole sections
